Short answer: Online age verification may involve your name, address, date of birth and, in some cases, an identity document. No website or verification service can promise that personal data is “completely safe.” Read the retailer’s privacy policy and the verification provider’s notice before submitting information.
What VapeRoster’s policy says
The VapeRoster Privacy Policy describes account and order data, possible government-issued photo ID checks, and disclosures to age-verification, payment and shipping partners. Review the current policy for its stated practices. The policy does not establish that every provider immediately deletes every ID image, so the earlier drafts’ deletion guarantees were removed.
Questions to check before submitting an ID
- Is the request part of the expected checkout or delivery process for the exact order?
- Who is the provider receiving the information, and where is its own privacy notice?
- What data is requested, how long is it kept, and how can you contact support about it?
- Is the page address the intended store or a provider identified in the checkout flow? Avoid sending an ID in response to an unexpected message or an unrelated link.
If verification fails or a prompt looks unfamiliar, use the store’s contact page to ask for the approved process. Do not send a photograph of an ID through a casual email or chat unless the official process directs you to a verified channel.
Frequently asked questions
Are all uploaded ID images deleted immediately?
Do not assume so. Retention practices depend on the provider and applicable policy; check the actual notice.
Does an age check always require a photo ID?
Not necessarily. A document may be requested depending on the verification result and checkout process.
